With an ever-growing population and dwindling resources, the Nigerian city of Lagos and the greater West Africa region are constantly faced with development and quality of life challenges. Two local leaders and business stakeholders connected with the Global Sustainability Solutions Services to create a knowledge-producing and training institute similar to Arizona State University’s Julie Ann Wrigley Global Institute of Sustainability and School of Sustainability to prepare Lagos’ future leaders with a more advanced set of skills to move West Africa towards a more sustainable future. The Global Sustainability Solutions Services developed a feasibility study, establishing a five-year timeline for the Sustainability School Lagos’ implementation. The School will offer professional certificate, master’s and doctoral programs in addition to research and innovation centers.
The Rob and Melani Walton Sustainability Solutions Service is funded through support from The Rob and Melani Walton Foundation. All affiliated legacy programs were founded through funding from Rob and Melani Walton.
