What is a sustainability solution to you? Locally produced food and goods? Energy-efficient and healthy buildings built from recycled and repurposed materials? A triple-bottom-line company that respects people, the planet and business? A city completely powered by renewable energy? What about an innovation that would allow nine billion people to exist on Earth? Finding solutions to issues this complex calls for many perspectives and partners. The Sustainability Solutions Festival convenes the planet’s top sustainability events and organizations for the month of February to discover and explore how we can individually and collectively reimagine our lives and our planet.

Mona’s Kitchen Recipe Winners
This year, Mona, in partnership with Bear Essential News for Kids, invited kids from across Arizona to submit their favorite healthy recipes that were showcased at the Sustainability Family Day at Arizona Science Center on Feb. 19. The grand winner was the Three Sisters Stew from Olivia in Peoria, AZ. Download and make each recipe yourself!
Science and Sustainability Competitions
The Sustainability Solutions Festival is active throughout the year supporting competitions and festivals across the globe that encourage and promote innovation and creative among students and entrepreneurs developing solutions to our planet’s challenges. Unfortunately,science fairs across the world were forced to be canceled this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, we are very excited to announce the 2020 Sustainability Solutions Fair, a special virtual science fair specifically for projects that explore global challenges while also developing or proposing viable solutions that help create a thriving future for all of Earth’s inhabitants. Look for more information on this fair beginning June 5.

Do you need community service credit or are you looking to join the ASU army of changemakers? Help us communicate and share your personal enthusiasm for sustainability with audiences of all ages.
