Marta Hulley Friedman is a Director for the Global Sustainability Solutions Services. In this role, she is charged with starting and managing three partnerships with international organizations located in Asia, Europe, and Latin America focusing on engaging Arizona State University faculty, students, and local community in finding solutions to real-world sustainability problems. Prior to joining the Institute, Marta was a program officer at the Johns Hopkins University, Bloomberg School of Public Health in Baltimore Maryland where she managed operations for the Rakai Health Sciences Program, a public health research and services project based in Uganda. Marta's role included developing complex budgets and proposals, managing contracts, overseeing multi-million dollar research budgets, and research operations. She also managed a Fogarty International Center student training program. Prior to her work at JHSPH Marta was a project administrator at the Partners Health Care System in Boston, Massachusetts, where she coordinated special projects for the development office, including special events, budgets, and publications. Marta holds a BA in International Relations from the Florida International University and an MPA from the George Washington University.
