Leading botanist and conservationist Peter Raven served as president of the Missouri Botanical Garden and Professor of Botany at Washington University, St. Louis, for 39 years. Analyzing estimates of extinction rates and the major factors leading to extinction, he will discuss a world faced with many choices of central importance for our future, emphasizing the role of global climate change.
