Biography

Professor/Dr. Yongsheng Zhang is Chief Expert of Climate Change and Green Growth, Senior Research Fellow at Development Research Center(DRC) of the State Council of P.R. China, and Visiting Professor at Renmin University of China. His research interests mainly focus on development economics, climate change & green growth, structural reforms in China. He is the author of some influential policy reports, including “Seizing the Opportunity of Green Development in China” in China 2030, a joint report of World Bank and DRC. In recent years, he has been doing systematic theoretic and policy research on climate change and green growth (CCGG) in the perspective of the division of labor towards creating a new narrative of CCGG, as well as on how to achieve the paradigm shift of development in China, especially on how to accelerate the development in poor regions through green transformation. He is the author of a host of refereed papers and two monographs New Classical Economics and Inframarginal Analysis (With Xiaokai Yang) and Irrelevance of the Size of the Firm: Theory and Evidence.
