Yang Kuang joined the Department of Mathematics at Ariaona State University as an assistant professor in August, 1988, after receiving a Ph.D in mathematical biology from University of Alberta. Prior to that, he studied in the Mathematical Institute of University of Oxford, Applied Mathematical Institute of Sinica and University of Science and Technology of China. He became an associate professor in July of 1992 and a full professor in July, 1997. He served as the graduate director from June of 2002 to May of 2005.
