Biography

Wesley Herche is the Director of the International Solutions team at BAE Systems Applied Intelligence. In this role he helps governments and large companies solve strategic challenges with the world's most advanced software and tools for geospatial intelligence. He joined BAE's Kuala Lumpur office in 2020. He leads a geographically distributed team both in the Kuala Lumpur office, and in San Diego, Canberra, Tokyo, and London. Before joining BAE, Dr. Herche was a Senior Strategy consultant at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) in their Silicon Valley office. Prior to this, Herche was the Associate Director of Research with the Global Security Initiative (GSI) at Arizona State University (ASU). As part of the leadership team at GSI, Herche helped grow GSI in its first three years from a new initiative to one of the largest institute-level activities at ASU. He led numerous efforts at GSI involving the strategic development of interdisciplinary research teams. Previous to his time at ASU, Herche spent most of his career in the US Defense and Intelligence Community including the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA). Within the NGA, erche worked as a Senior Intelligence Officer, serving in leadership positions within the US, a deployment to Iraq as Senior Data Manager, and National Agency Representative roles while living and working in the UK and Japan.

Herche earned his PhD in Sustainability at the School of Sustainability at Arizona State University with a dissertation focusing on policy, geospatial, and market factors in the global renewable energy market. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in Geography from Southern Illinois University, and an MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management with a focus in international strategy.
