Biography

Tim Trefzer oversees environmental and social sustainability at the Georgia World Congress Center Authority (GWCCA), which is comprised of the 3.9 million square foot Georgia World Congress Center, the 71,250-seat Georgia Dome, Centennial Olympic Park, as well as the Savannah International Trade and Convention Center. Since 2010, he has been responsible for improving internal operations, working with clients to reduce the impact of events, and promoting a culture of environmental stewardship in the community. He is a LEED Accredited Professional and administered the GWCC’s LEED for Existing Buildings Silver certification in 2014 at which time it became the largest LEED certified convention center in the world. Tim is a member of the Green Sports Alliance, US Green Building Council, and serves as vice chair of IAVM’s sustainability committee. He earned a Bachelor’s degree from Florida State University and a Master’s degree in Sustainability from Arizona State University.
