Capstone: Super Scottsdale: Using Shoes to Benefit Local Communities

This project focuses on raising awareness and education on how to better deal with waste, in particular shoes. We often have items in our homes that we no longer use and would like to get rid of. Instead of throwing these into our waste bins which ultimately land in landfills here in the U.S. we can find better ways to reuse, repurpose and recycle these items. Super Scottsdale strives to collect 49,000 shoes during and after Super Bowl 49 here in Phoenix. The collected shoes will benefit people in need and will help provide a new surface for a sports court for the only homeless shelter in Scottsdale, Family Promise.
