Biography

Dr. Clark is a Research Assistant Professor in the School of Sustainable Engineering and the Built Environment where she contributes to two federally funded research projects related to socio-technical resilience of critical infrastructure. Both projects are coupling social and technical analysis to discover the adaptive actions, ideas and decisions that contribute to resilience in socio-technical infrastructure systems, including electric power, water, and roadways. Susan also teaches Resilience Engineering (CEE 598) at the graduate level, Sustainable World (110) Online for undergraduates, as well as supports InnovationSpace, an interdisciplinary senior capstone class.

Susan received her PhD in the School of Sustainability in 2013. Her dissertation work was entitled Examining A Sustainable Approach to Global Climate Policy where she investigated the role that CO2 plays in advancing human development and explored the implications of this relationship on international climate policy.
