Biography

This year Rachel is returning to school and joining Local First Arizona part-time to work on local food system development. Previously, she worked three years with new nonprofit in southern NM, La Semilla Food Center coordinating cooking and nutrition workshops with youth 7th-12th grade, several local foods dinners and receptions, and food systems education curriculum development. She also spent one year with New Pathways for Youth in Phoenix developing demonstration garden and curriculum for at-risk youth after school program, managed mentoring program with over 100 youth living in transitional housing, and implemented transition to healthy snacking at workshops and summer camp.
