Biography

My name’s Phillip Moore, most people just call me Phill though. I am a recent graduate of Arizona State University back in 2016, where I graduated with two Bachelors of Arts degrees in Sustainability and Earth and Environmental Studies, as well as a certificate in Food Systems Sustainability. Before graduating I was fortunate enough to be a Walton Scholarship recipient and attend the study abroad program in Nepal. While in Nepal I was able to meet and conduct somewhat of an informational interview with development agents at the US Embassy in Kathmandu. Learning about this type of career and the work being done in the development field made me want to pursue similar opportunities. My professional work background is rooted in my first job working for an organic garlic farm in Ohio. I still go back every summer and help with the harvest, but it is this job that introduced me to the rolling culinary company Outstanding in the Field. Its through them that I was able to work with over a dozen James Beard nominee chefs and serve food on farms in over 28 states, all while aiming to reconnect people with the food on their plate. Since working for them I have been living in Tempe. My main hobby is music, I love jamming with friends and I play a couple open mic’s around town.
