- Former Vice Chairman, Anderson Golf and Residential Communities
- Member, Board of Directors of the Julie Ann Wrigley Global Institute of Sustainability at ASU
Phil has lived most of his life in Arizona, and has the greatest admiration for both the Julie Ann Wrigley Global Institute of Sustainability, with the inspiration and contributions of Julie Wrigley, and Arizona State University, under the remarkable leadership of President Crow. Phil has lifelong dedication to preservation of the environment and sustainability for the benefit of future generations, including his children and grandchildren.
First career included 20 years specializing in commercial real estate and sports law as a partner and director with the Fennemore Craig law firm, oldest in Arizona, and now a multi-state regional firm. Second career was 25 years in golf, including golf tournaments, and residential community developments in Arizona, New Mexico, Hawaii, and Scotland, with a strong emphasis on preservation of the environment.
Phil’s non-profit affiliations over the years have related primarily to education, healthcare, youth, and the environment. Current involvements include Honor Health, an Arizona healthcare system; a local mountain preserve trust; Liberty Wildlife, committed to wildlife rehabilitation and youth wildlife education; and a very special interest in mentoring young people. He also has an interest in getting together people with different skills and views, but compatible temperament. He is a graduate of Stanford (Phi Beta Kappa) and University of Arizona College of Law (law review and first in class). He and his wife Nancy are residents of Paradise Valley, Arizona, and Sun Valley, Idaho. They have four children and a growing number of delightful grandchildren.
