Biography

Mike Herod fell in love with the built environment 20 years ago and that love led him to manage the portfolio of the Arizona National Guard for 8 years, where he built the first training site focused and grounded in sustainability. After returning from Iraq and completing his military career he enrolled in the new School of Sustainability and completed his BS in Sustainability from ASU in 2011. He was quickly recruited to consult clients on sustainable trends, processes, and products and advises a diverse set of Fortune 500 clients, industries, and government agencies. After completing his Executive Masters for Sustainability Leadership (EMSL) from ASU, he has transitioned into the next chapter of his career as the President and Founder of Invisible Footprint, where he seeks to “Turn clients into colleagues one sustainable decision at a time.” He also teaches construction and building trades at his local community college in Frederick Maryland where he, his wife and two sons reside.
