Kendon Jung (Bachelor of Arts, 2013), is the School of Sustainability Alumni Board Outreach Coordinator for 2016-2017, and recent masters graduate in higher and postsecondary education at Arizona State University. His research focused on the impact of Zero Waste initiatives on fan beliefs and behaviors at sporting events. Kendon is thrilled to have had the opportunity to work with Sun Devil Athletics, Zero Waste, and Sustainability Practices on this emerging, use-inspired research. Kendon has also been working with the Sun Devil Stadium Reinvention steering committee, tasked with activating the "space" as a culture catalyst for innovation, collaboration, multiculturalism. Kendon was selected as a recipient of the Giving is Living: Sustainable Community Education fellowship in August 2015. This honor contributed to his application to the City of Tempe's brand new Sustainability Commission, which he now serves as the Vice Chair. Charged with visioning a sustainable future for Tempe, the commission develops long-term strategic plans and works with and connects like-minded people in the city to promote inter-department program collaboration. Kendon is thrilled for the opportunity to give back to his hometown, and is excited for the momentum that is already building within Tempe.
