- The formation and evolution of atmospheric aerosols with an emphasis on the organic compounds associated with these particles
- Identification of sources of particulate matter using organic tracer compounds
- The fate of toxic semi-volatile organic species, including polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, polychlorinated biphenyls, and dioxins, in the environment
- Deposition of fine particulate matter including direct measurement of speciated and size-resolved fine particle deposition using eddy-correlation mass spectrometry
- Testing and application of novel aerosol instrumentation
- Statistical analysis of single aerosol particle composition measurements
