Biography

Hello! My name is Braedon Kantola and I am currently enrolled in the 4 + 1 MSUS program at Arizona State University (Tempe campus). With that, I am also pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Sustainability with a specific track focus on ecosystems and a certificate in energy and sustainability. I am particularly interested on gearing my research project around locusts with a solution-oriented mindset to prevent locust outbreaks from causing serious social, economic, and environmental impacts. I have worked under Dr. Arianne Cease in her lab studying insect behavior and nutrition to gain a better understanding of sustainable solutions to insect-driven hardships among human populations. I also enjoy learning about water management and other things such as energy in the global arena to figure out how it can be made more sustainable.

As far as my hobbies go, I absolutely love being outdoors and playing hockey! You can usually find me outside either hiking, at the lake, or off-roading with some friends. If you happen to see me on campus, feel free to come and say hi!
