Biography

I am a native to Tempe and have a deep concern for water issues in the valley. I began working with DCDC as an undergraduate research assistant in the Community of Undergraduate Researchers (COURS) program. I am currently working on a research project evaluating the correlations between people’s environmental values, water knowledge, and conservation behavior in hopes of determining what drives people to seek out information about water conservation. I will also be doing community outreach for DCDC and hope to engage the public using student internships, art shows, and interactive displays. I will graduate Spring 2010 with a B.S. in Biology and Society and a minor in Justice Studies. After I graduate I hope to bike from Seattle to San Francisco and then volunteer with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps in South America. My long term career goals include going into secondary science education and directing a science summer camp.
