Biography

Anna Bettis is a Senior Program Coordinator at Arizona State University’s School of Sustainability. In this role, Anna supports and builds partnerships with organizations to help them meet their sustainability goals. She manages the launch of new programs and the delivery of custom (non-degree) education and training programs to organizational clients including private businesses, government agencies and nonprofits.

Ms. Bettis previously served a 2-year tenure as a Resident Scholar for the Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust. As a Scholar, Anna reported to the President and managed projects to strengthen community organizations, build partnerships and address socio-economic vulnerabilities. Prior to joining Piper Trust, Anna spent 5 years at ASU. As a Graduate Research Assistant, Anna supported the launch of the ASU Global Consortium for Sustainability Outcomes and as a Management Intern she managed social impact programs at ASU Changemaker Central. She also worked as an Accounting Assistant at the ASU Office of the President. Anna was previously a Sustainability Assistant at the City of Mesa’s Environmental and Sustainability Division where she coordinated sustainability workshops and incentive programs.

Anna joined Valley Leadership in 2017 and sits on the advocacy committee of Stardust Nonprofit Building Supplies, a reuse organization. She is the past co-lead of Maricopa County Department of Public Health’s research and collaboration action team focused on mitigating climate sensitive hazards to improve community health.
