Biography

Andrea Wullenweber serves as a Research Advancement Administrator Sr. on the proposal services team at the Julie Ann Wrigley Global Institute of Sustainability. She joined Arizona State University (ASU) in 2016, first working as a Research Advancement Specialist in Knowledge Enterprise Development before taking on her current role.

Andrea’s background is in environmental science and program development. Prior to joining ASU, she was an Environmental Scientist at Toxicology Excellence for Risk Assessment (TERA), where she managed the International Toxicity Estimates for Risk (ITER) database of human health risk assessment information. In this role, she managed the technical content of the database and acquired funding for it. Andrea also conducted project management on scientific projects, and provided budget management training and support to other project managers at TERA.

Previous to TERA, Andrea worked at U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Region 10 (Seattle), as the Air Toxics Program Coordinator. As such, she managed the program and provided regulatory and technical assistance to EPA staff, State and local agencies, industry, and the public. She also wrote Federal Register rules to delegate federal authorities to state and local agencies. While at EPA, she received an award for Outstanding Public Service from the Seattle Federal Executive Board, and received Special Act and Special Accomplishment Awards from U.S. EPA.

Andrea was also an Environmental Manager at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base responsible for NEPA and Natural & Cultural Resources projects. In this capacity, she provided technical and regulatory support to assist 14 bases in managing environmental conservation programs.
