Biography

Stephen Donofrio, Principal & Founder of Greenpoint Innovations, offers more than 10 years of experience working with companies, communities, governments and not-for-profit organizations on ‘environmental social and governance’ (ESG) assessment, strategy, reporting and communications; responsible investing; environmental markets; carbon finance; and sustainable development. Greenpoint Innovations (www.greenpointinnovations.com) partners with an array of organizations, including not-for-profits, universities, conferences, services firms and corporations on program and partnership development, research and insights, brand and awareness building, and, education & training.

In addition, he is Senior Advisor to Forest Trends’ project Supply-Change.org, which enables users to track the actions that companies are reporting against the commitments they’ve made to reduce their role in degrading the world’s critical ecosystems through sustainable value chain management of deforestation linked commodities. Stephen also serves on several environmental sustainability working groups, including the Association of Climate Change Officers, United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative and the Society of American Foresters.

Formerly Vice President of CDP North America, Stephen directed the organization’s work in Canada and managed North America’s partnerships and investor disclosure programs for climate, energy, water, forest risk commodities, consisting of more than a dozen partners, 700 US and Canadian publicly-held companies across all industries and more than 200 institutional investors. Stephen joined CDP from the Chicago Climate Exchange (CCX), where he administered the Carbon Offsets Program, recruited new corporations to the legally-binding cap-and-trade program, managed member and partner accounts, and provided research and analysis of environmental markets, regulations, policies and programs.
