  • Adjunct Professor, Department of Environmental Toxicology, University of California-Davis

Biography

Dr. Kanthswarmy's research in population genetics and genomics is centered on the investigation of anthropogenic and natural forces which shape and structure genetic variation of wild and captive animal populations. His focus on the cellular/molecular aspects of conservation biology, biodiversity protection and environmental sustainability is fueled by his experience in wetland protection and genetic management. He constantly integrates policy issues into his research and community services and incorporates new research findings from his laboratory into his teaching.

Education

  • PhD, Genetics, University of California-Davis, 2001
  • MPhil, Genetics, University of Malaya, 1993
  • BSc (with honors), Genetics, University of Malaya, 1990
