Dr. Henderson is Professor of Engineering at Arizona State University at the Polytechnic campus. His major research includes 60 papers in computer-aided design and global engineering and he serves on the editorial board of The Journal of Computer-Aided Design (CAD). As part of a multi-university collaboration on student mobility, he began the Nomadic Academy in 2004, a summer study abroad program in design and manufacturing with Penn State, University of Washington, University of Leeds (UK), IUT Bethune (France), Ecole Centrale Lyon (France) and University of Navarra (Spain). He founded the ASU Global Engineering Design Team, a multi-disciplinary, multi-country design experience for undergraduates and also is co-founder of GlobalResolve (, a social entrepreneurship program with projects in Africa to help villages solve problems in water and energy and use those solutions to establish sustainable business ventures. He is on the founding faculty of a new (2005) engineering program at ASU's Polytechnic campus. Henderson is also co-director of the InnovationSpace, a new approach to transdisciplinary product development and entrepreneurship with the schools of engineering, business, design and graphic design.
