Biography

Jeanne Ng is currently the Director of the CLP Research Institute. She joined CLP over 15 years ago and was involved in starting up the Group Environmental Affairs and Group Sustainability functions, establishing corporate environmental policy and strategy across the CLP Group and setting up the Group Sustainability function to manage CLP Group’s sustainability matters, including sustainability-related strategy, reporting and communications. She has extensive experience in the environmental industry and has held senior roles in international environmental / engineering consulting companies prior to joining CLP. She was involved in most of the early Hong Kong governmental air pollution and climate strategy and policy studies and is regarded as one of Hong Kong's experts in air and greenhouse gas emissions inventories.

Ng holds a BSc in Toxicology from the University of Toronto and a PhD in Environmental Management from the University of Hong Kong. She is currently a Board member of the International Electric Research Exchange (IERE) and the Hong Kong Institute of Qualified Environmental Professionals (HKIQEP) and a member of the Prince’s Accounting for Sustainability Project (A4S) Expert Panel. She was previously a Board member of the Air & Waste Management Association (AWMA) and the International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC), as well as a member of the Advisory Council of the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) and the Stakeholder Council of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI).

In Hong Kong, Jeanne Ng is a  member of the Hong Kong Town Planning Board and a frequent guest lecturer on environmental and sustainable development issues at various Hong Kong universities and is currently a Member of the Advisory Committee on Environmental Science at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the Local Advisory Committee of the Division of Environment at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and the Advisory Committee of Department of Asian and International Studies at City University of Hong Kong.
