Biography

Keefer's research interests center on decision analysis. He is particularly interested in models for resource allocations involving major uncertainties and in methods for facilitating realistic modeling of uncertainties via approximations. Before ASU, he spent 15 years with Gulf Oil Corp and Chevron Corp, primarily as an internal consultant using analytical models to help manage and evaluate complex projects and allocate limited budgets. He has served as Chair (1996-1998) of the Decision Analysis Society of the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences, the leading professional group for promoting the worldwide development and application of decision-analysis methods.
