Aryn Baxter is Assistant Research Professor and Director of the MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program at Arizona State University. She holds a PhD in Comparative and International Development Education from the University of Minnesota’s College of Education and Human Development.
Housed within the Center for Advanced Studies in Global Education, Aryn leads efforts to implement and learn from two comprehensive scholarship initiatives funded by the MasterCard Foundation that expand educational and leadership development opportunities for students from African countries. Previously, she lived and worked in Rwanda as an international educator and conducted educational research and program evaluations throughout East Africa. As a scholar-practitioner working at the intersection of international education and international development, she seeks to advance the transformative potential of international higher education.
