Julia Marton-Lefèvre, board member for the Julie Ann Wrigley Global Institute of Sustainability, won a lifetime achievement award from the National Council for Science and the Environment. According to NCSE, this award "honors those who have made a significant impact to our community through research, education, diplomacy and/or innovative technologies."
Marton-Lefèvre is the former director general of the International Union for Conservation of Nature, the world’s largest international conservation membership organization. Prior positions include rector of the U.N.-mandated University for Peace, executive director of Leadership for Environment and Development International, and executive director of the International Council for Science.
On Twitter, Marton-Lefèvre said she was honored to receive the award but acknowledged the work that still needs to be done to achieve sustainability goals.
