Join us for a special presentation with Dr. Rajiv Shah, Administrator of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), an agency focused on ending extreme poverty across the world.

Administrator Shah will discuss the USAID Research and Innovation (R &I ) Fellowships, slated to begin in the Spring Semester. The R & I Fellowships are a newly established partnership between ASU and USAID’s US Global Development Lab.These Fellowships offer top graduate students the opportunity to work with USAID and host institutions in one of seven developing countries (Brazil, Colombia, India, Indonesia, Philippines, Senegal, South Africa) to solve the world’s most pressing challenges. Fellows will receive support for travel and tuition and be connected to a worldwide network of international-development professionals.

In his role as USAID’s Administrator, Dr. Shah manages a $22 billion budget. He has been the driving force behind "USAID Forward," a set of reforms to USAID’s business model that focuses on procurement, science and technology, and monitoring and evaluation. Before USAID, Dr. Shah served as Undersecretary for Research, Education, and Economics and Chief Scientist at the Department of Agriculture and as Director of Agricultural Development and Director of Strategic Opportunities for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
