Heat is increasingly recognized as a critical hazard globally – and here in the Phoenix metro area. This fall’s panel discussion series aims to understand heat as hazard and the state of current and best practices for local governments in mitigating heat risk for a sustainable quality of life and the safety of our vulnerable populations. Heat impacts all areas of our daily lives – housing, eating, recreating, mobility and more. The challenge of mitigating heat risks invites collaboration across the city and with the whole community.
This series is co-sponsored by the Sustainable Cities Network and The Center for Emergency Management and Homeland Security.
