The Big Five: Fighting for Animals on All Fronts
- President & CEO of the Humane Society of the United States
- CEO of Humane Society International
Kitty Block has worked with the Humane Society since 1992, first as a legal investigator to the investigations department, bringing cruelties such as horse slaughter and the killing of dogs and cats for their fur in China to light. Her efforts led to major policy reforms in those realms, including E.U. and U.S. bans on imports of dog and cat fur and bans on slaughtering horses for human consumption.
In her talk, Block will discuss how the organizations she leads are acting upon threats to all animals. She will highlight the work of her organization, their accomplishments, and current trends in the animal welfare movement.
