Sunizona Family Farms Announce a New CSA
Sunizona Family Farms has introduced a new community-supported agriculture (CSA) program that allows members to order their certified organic fruits and vegetables for pick-up at locations throughout the Phoenix and Tucson areas. The FarmBox can be completely customized, and there's no commitment - you may cancel your membership at anytime. This Arizona-based, family-operated farm truly promotes the concept of sustainability by using veganic growing practices (i.e., no animal-based products), onsite composting, and a biomass boiler system fueled by locally sourced pecan shells. The FarmBox is their latest project allowing both the farm and the consumer to bypass middlemen and make healthy, fresh food more accessible. This is a single farm CSA - none of their 50+ varieties come from other farms or from abroad - and controlled environment technology provides members with a year-round supply of many farm favorites like tomatoes and microgreens. Check out their website for more information about the sign-up process. One of their newest pickup locations in at the House of Tricks, near the Arizona State University Tempe Campus.
