Stories from Data (SFD) Workshops

Stories from Data (SFD) is a series of workshops aimed at connecting visual storytelling and data visualization. No previous experience with visualization programming or software is required.
Stories from Data will run from March 5-7 at the Memorial Union, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day. Coffee and snacks will be provided.
Stories from Data is a three-day sequence arranged in ascending order of technical demand. The first day covers basic principles and techniques; the second day covers the use of the Tableau Software Package in the context of creating a narrative; the third day provides an introduction to the d3.js javascript library.
This is not merely a technology skills class. Participants will learn how to situate visualization as part of research, decision support, and communication efforts.
