State of the Charge: Battery Sustainability
- Senior Research Lead, The Sustainability Consortium
Carole Mars' work at ASU's Sustainability Consortium investigates the sustainability issues and opportunities in manufactured goods supply chains, focusing on electronics and automotive industries, emphasizing product fate, end-of-life management, and the circular economy. She received a PhD in chemistry from Penn State and worked as a process engineer in the semiconductor industry before
joining the Consortium.
The ability to generate, store and deliver power sustainably is a fundamental goal of a sustainable society. In this talk, Mars will explore the state of sustainability in the lead-acid and lithium ion battery industries, and the barriers of truly sustainable power storage systems.
