Parag Mankeekar

Parag Mankeekar is a social-tech entrepreneur trained as a medical, public-health professional, and anthropologist. He has tackled health and social challenges while developing multidisciplinary hospitals and social enterprises.

RealLives is a data-driven, interactive life simulation that enables players to virtually live out a life, as experienced by a real person in any part of the world. In this talk, Mankeekar will demonstrate how this tool puts a "face" on global statistical indicators, political structures, geoclimatic zones, and cultural norms while accounting for diseases, maternal/infant mortality, and literacy. He will travel through his virtual laboratory, showcasing how it can build deductive and inferential reasoning, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
