Michael A. Tamor

  • Executive Technical Leader, Energy Systems and Sustainability
  • Ford Research and Advanced Engineering, Ford Motor Company

Join ASU LightWorks for three opportunities to engage with Dr. Michael A. Tamor from Ford Motor Company.

On Monday, November 19, Dr. Tamor will be speaking about Global Vehicle Usage Studies: Who Can Really Use an Electric Car? This seminar will cover the attractions of electric vehicles and the analysis behind the day-to-day variations of vehicle usage. Dr. Tamor will explain powerful predictors of electric vehicle usage in large cities.
9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.
Old Main, Carson Ballroom, Tempe campus

The same day, join Dr. Tamor for a workshop-style discussion on Envisioning a Sustainable Transportation Future in 2050. We will transport ourselves into the future with sustainable transportation in Arizona. We will create and tell stories of what the world around us looks like and how we got there.
10:15 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Old Main, Carson Ballroom, Tempe campus

Lastly, Dr. Tamor will speak about Sustainable Personal Transportation: the Re-electrification of the Automobile. This lecture will address the question: Will personal automobiles have a place in a sustainable transportation future? This presentation will combine the physics of energy storage, publicly available data, and studies of real-world vehicle usage to challenge transportation conceptions and provoke a more thoughtful conversation about our energy future.
6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
SkySong, Convergence Room 150
