Sustainable Strategies for Communities:
An EPA Perspective

Karen Irwin works with local governments to advance sustainability objectives in waste and materials management, renewable energy on contaminated lands, and green streets. John Katz specializes in reducing toxins in products, environmentally preferable purchasing, and pollution-prevention promotion for small and medium-sized businesses.

In this talk, Irwin and Katz will describe EPA sustainability initiatives, tools, and resources for communities. Topics to be covered include: waste and toxin reduction, land revitalization, renewable energy, green purchasing, smart growth, green infrastructure, and diesel emissions reduction.

A light lunch will be served.

We are also assisting the GPSA, USG, Council of Presidents, Aramark, Changemaker, and Sun Devil Fitness in collecting donations of school supplies and diapers for Hurricane Harvey relief. Please consider a donation.
