The Age of Sustainable Development

Jeffrey D. Sachs is a world-renowned economics professor, leader in sustainable development, best-selling author, and syndicated columnist. He is special adviser to the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on the Millennium Development Goals, director of the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network, as well as cofounder/director of the Millennium Villages Project. Over the past ten years he has authored: The End of Poverty; Common Wealth: Economics for a Crowded Planet; The Price of Civilization; To Move the World: JFK’s Quest for Peace, and, most recently The Age of Sustainable Development, described by E.O. Wilson, as the “most important book in current circulation.”

In this talk, Sachs will argue that attaining sustainability is our highest priority and will outline the best ways to reach that mighty goal.
