If you are attending the 13th International Congress of Orthopterology in Agadir, Morocco this year, please join our Global Locust Initiative hosted workshop: Locust and Grasshopper Data Management in the Information Age. The workshop will take place on Wednesday the 27th of March from 4:30–6:30 p.m. at the Hôtel Palais des Roses room #3. As a community we will discuss data collection and data management practices and share successes and challenges with regards to the curating, storing, and sharing of data both within and between institutions. We will also be discussing an early-stage effort championed by Ed Baker to digitize the large collections of the Anti-Locust Research Centre of London and will explore how to best leverage the archive for public use. The outcomes from this workshop will provide fodder for an upcoming ASU-based international monitoring & forecasting workshop in 2020.
