Free Film Screening: The River and the Wall

The River and the Wall investigates the costs of a recurring symbol of the ongoing immigration debate – a physical barrier, or the wall – as filmmakers traverse our southern border to explore where the wall would be built and its potential environmental, economic, and social consequences.

Join us for a post-film discussion led by environmental historian and Sustainability Scientist Paul Hirt and Austin Alvarado, one of the stars of the film.

At the film, we will be collecting in-kind donations for the Welcome to America Project, an organization dedicated to supporting the self-sufficiency of newly arrived refugees. For a full list of accepted donations, please click here.

In addition, please consider donating to Humane Borders, a 501(c)(3) organization that maintains a system of water stations in the Borderlands on routes used by migrants making the perilous journey to the U.S. on foot.
