School of Sustainability Student Showcase

Students in the School of Sustainability will be showcasing culminating experience projects during the bi-annual Student Showcase. Please join us as Wrigley Hall opens its doors to highlight student research, projects, coursework, and internships from the Fall 2019 semester.

Students graduating from the MSUS program will be presenting information about the project they chose to focus on as part of their culminating experience.

Wednesday, December 4
Project Cities Showcase
9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Alumni Room, Memorial Union
Join ASU Project Cities students and faculty, along with the City of Peoria, City of Glendale, and Town of Clarkdale for the Fall 2019 End-of-Semester Showcase. Students will present research findings and recommendations from all fall 2019 projects.
Event will include a slideshow presentation from each class, with Q&A, as well as a poster/networking session for individual conversations.

This event is the celebration and display of some of the incredible work sustainability interns have done this semester. Interns apply their talent and innovative thinking to applied experiences in professional settings including public, private, and educational sectors. Talk with students while enjoying refreshments, appetizers and desserts.

Sustainability Short-Form Documentary - Peter Byck

Join us for the annual screening of two short films created by students from the School of Sustainability and Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication, under the direction of sustainability scientist and director of Carbon Nation, Peter Byck.

SOS 498/594: Building Connections for Food Energy Water (FEW) Nexus through Systems Thinking & Community Engagement
3:00 - 5:00 p.m.

Students will be presenting two projects related to FEW nexus that they have been working on in collaboration with community partners. The first project, in collaboration with Arizona Sustainability Alliance, relates to the design of an agri-voltaics project. Here the idea is to experiment with growing crops below ground-mounted PV modules to provide shade for crops, while saving water and providing a source of renewable energy. The second project, in collaboration with CHISPA, relates to the co-design of household and community level interventions that increase energy efficiency, and improve health and safety for low income minority households in Phoenix.
