As renewable energy takes off and moves closer to the point of consumption, generation around the world is becoming more decentralized. These distributed energy resources (DER) are transforming energy markets, but questions remain about what this new industry will look like and how DER will be managed. In this session, we will explore this critical issue from a policy and industry perspective: who are the relevant stakeholders and what are the mechanisms for engagement, what drives costs for DER installation, where we expect economies and dis-economies of scale, and how this will impact the future of the industry.
