Culture, Carbon, and Climate Change:
A Social Class Analysis

Jean Boucher

  • Postdoctoral Research Associate, School for the Future of Innovation in Society, ASU

Jean Léon Boucher is an environmental sociologist and part-time activist. His research has covered issues from climate change belief and consumption lifestyles, to policies related to carbon accounting and taxation, environmental justice, the diffusion of clean-energy technologies, and community-based engineering.

In this presentation, Boucher will review his study of the relationship among household income, personal carbon footprints, and climate-change belief. Specifically, he will investigate whether climate-change beliefs moderate the income-carbon relationship within individuals.

A light lunch will be served.
