Cinema Politica Free Film Screening: Red Power: Standing Rock Part 2

RED POWER is the second of an eight-episode documentary series devoted to the struggle of the Native Indian tribes of America to protect their territories and sacred places from multinational oil and mining companies.

RED POWER delves into the evolution of the Red Power Movement, tracking past battles—from Wounded Knee to Alcatraz— and re-writing history from the standpoint of Standing Rock occupation. The Standing Rock protest was aimed against the construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline, a high-environmental impact pipeline designed to cut the U.S. from north to south.

This film will be screened at NAHUACALLI, Embassy of Indigenous Peoples - O'otham Jevedga (O'otham Nations Territories).
