          2018 Point-In-Time Homeless Street Count

(Tuesday, January 23, 2018) The City of Tempe is conducting a Point-In-Time Homeless Street Count on January 23rd, an annual community-service event taking place in Tempe, across Maricopa County, and throughout the nation. Data collected helps providers to better understand the homeless situation in their community and to apply for federal, state, and regional funding for housing and other human services. Following up on our Homelessness Town Hall in August 2016, the Wrigley Institute is forming teams of three to five volunteers to join this community-wide effort. More information.

Tenth International Conference on Climate Change: Impacts & Responses

(Sunday-Thursday, December 8-13, 2018) Restore America’s Estuaries (RAE) and the Coastal States Organization (CSO) are proud to host the 9th National Summit on Coastal and Estuarine Restoration and Management in Long Beach, California. The six-day Summit will explore cutting-edge issues in coastal restoration and management, and will be comprised of a community restoration event, field sessions, plenary sessions, expert presentations, special evening events, workshops, a poster hall, and an award-winning coastal exposition hall. We hope that you will share in our excitement for this new collaboration as we bring to you the largest national gathering of the restoration and coastal management community. Arizona State University ranks ninth out of 719 universities in the U.S. for research expenditures for institutions of higher education without a medical school, up one spot from last year, in the National Science Foundation’s Higher Education Research and Development rankings.           Student Opportunity: Virginia G. Piper Resident’s Scholar Program

Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust Resident Scholars Program provides a dynamic opportunity for promising early professionals to work at a place-based philanthropic organization. Piper Trust supports organizations that enrich health, well-being, and opportunity for the people of Maricopa County, Arizona; it concentrates its efforts in six areas: arts and culture, children, education, healthcare and medical research, older adults, and religious organizations.
