Biogeochemical cycling in xeric yards

Publication date: 2015-10-07

Author(s):

  • Hannah Heavenrich

Abstract:

Emperical research anayzing the boigeochemical effects of removing a residential turgrass lawn and replacing it with a water efficient landscape. This project also looked at the long term differences between nutrient cycling turfgrass lawns and in water efficient yards that were newly installed as well as those installed between 1-20 years ago. Further, this research considered home-owner management of the front yards and the role management places in biogeochemical processes in these landscapes
