Biography

Previously an undergraduate completing an honors thesis with Dr. Gerber, I am excited to continue participating in the Gerber lab as a masters student. In May 2014 I graduated from ASU as a Conservation Biology major, with a minor in Anthropology. I will complete my master’s degree in Biology and Society in Fall 2016.

Research Interests
My research interests focus on the human dimensions of conservation, and how to effectively communicate conservation research to society, and how the way people make decisions that impact the environment. Specifically, I am interested in marine conservation as well as the sustainability and health factors of different protein sources. My honors thesis, “A framework for evaluating the ecological and human health factors in protein source decisions,” was completed in the spring of 2014 under the direction of Dr. Leah Gerber, Dr. Andrew Smith, and Dr. Ben Minteer. I look forward to continuing this research and studying how it could contribute to creating an electronic decision aid tool for public use.
