Biography
As Development Director for the Gordon and Betty Moore Center for Science, Katie Russell leads the fundraising efforts of Conservation International’s team of 50+ scientists and their ground-breaking research, which is focused on understanding the relationship between people and nature. She also spearheads several of the Moore Center’s strategic partnerships (ASU, MIT, NASA) and manages Conservation International’s Science Advisory Board, an advisory council comprised of global corporate, government, science, and civil society thought-leaders. Katie previously worked directly with CI’s executive leadership, providing support for both the President and Senior Vice President’s office.
Prior to joining CI, Katie was Chief Clerk for the U.S. Senate Committee on Indian Affairs and worked for U.S. Senator Jon Tester in his personal office in Washington, DC. Katie holds a BS in Sociology from DePauw University and grew up in Montana.
