Biography

Arielle graduated with a Master’s degree in Biology and Society from the ASU School of Life Sciences. Arielle’s field research took place at the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute in Panama, measuring how humpback whales respond to increased anthropocentric presence from ecotourism. The research can be used to better inform management decisions for stricter regulations and enforcement protocols in Panama that are vital to minimize disturbance on humpback whale populations. During her time at ASU, Arielle worked with the Center for Biodiversity Outcomes as a Communications and Administrative Aide. Some of her tasks included generating social media content, writing content for the center’s news blog and updating the media log and calendar in partnership with the manager of communications and business operations. She also maintained the founding director’s publication database and provided daily administrative support to the administrative assistant.
