The ASU Center for Sustainable Tourism of the School of Community Resources and Development and the Center for Biodiversity Outcomes will be hosting a public talk with Dr. Tracy A. Farrell to explore the impact conservation partnerships between NGOs and universities have on achieving positive conservation outcomes.
Farrell is the VP of strategies and fundraising for Conservation Internationa's Asia Pacific Division.
The talk, titled "Collaborative conservation: Weaving universities and non-profits together in the fight to save our planet," is part of the ASU-CI partnership.

About Dr. Tracy Farell
Farrell leads strategy and fundraising efforts of Conservation International’s Asia Pacific Division, specializing on large public funding opportunities including the Green Climate Fund and The Global Environment Facility, ensuring that their strategies are robust and aligned with the larger priorities of CI.
She has spent the past six years leading the Greater Mekong Program based in Cambodia, managing a team of 26 staff, developing and leading programmatic work on the ground and shaping policy and science with partners including government agencies, universities and NGOs. Prior to this, she developed and led cross-cutting initiatives in the areas of fresh water, ecosystem services and wildlife trade. Farrell has created research agendas, strategic directions and business plans to refine CI’s niche and partnership approach to address institutional priorities.
She has published broadly with more than 50 publications across multiple areas in both peer reviewed and popular publications, and has 10 years of experience aligning research and field activities to ensure solid program delivery, largely taking place in North, Central and South America.
Before joining CI, Farrell served as Dean for the School for Field Studies and was also a Visiting Professor / Instructor for Virginia Tech’s Department of Forestry.
