Documentary Screening: Waste Land
Oscar® nominated Waste Land follows renowned artist Vik Muniz as he journeys from his home base in Brooklyn to his native Brazil and the world's largest garbage dump, Jardim Gramacho, located on the outskirts of Rio de Janeiro. Together with people employed to pick out recyclable material from garbage, Muniz creates large-scale mosaic portraits from landfill trash.
This one-night-only showing is FREE to the public; however we will be collecting donations of gently used clothing, household items, shoes, and linens to Ditch the Dumpster, benefiting Swift Charities for Children.
Free parking is available at the Brickyard Parking Garage on 6th Street & Mill Avenue. Be sure to bring your ticket and the theatre will validate.
This event is co-sponsored with ASU Campus Student Sustainability Initiatives.
